LOGLINE:

A young handicapped girl, overcomes her limitations and rediscovers her self esteem, when she trains and learns to ride a prized Peruvian Paso horse on the ranch where her father works. However, when the horse has to be sold, the girl sinks into depression again. Upon learning that the horse may be secretly destroyed for insurance reasons, the girl, with the help of a cynical yet sympathetic female truck driver rescue the horse from destruction with the intent of setting him free. There's a strong parallel between the girl's and the horse's willpower to overcome adversity and an incredible bond is forged.

Career Narrative:
John Lage began his career in entertainment in 1984 as a writer and actor. Guest Star credits include Houston Knights, Quantum Leap, Life Goes On, Empty Nest, Matlock, MacGyver, and Beverly Hills 90210. John moved into production in 1986 and began working for a small independent; Edler-Brown Productions. Reading nearly 100 feature scripts per month, John soon developed an eye for commercial content. A career opportunity presented itself when then NBC President, Brandon Tartikoff offered John the position of Director of Development at a new company he was starting called New World Pictures. There, John was responsible for greenlighting such hits as Tour of Duty, Designing Women, Baghdad Café, Second Noah, The New Adventures of Spiderman, the long running syndication hit Real Stories of the Highway Patrol and the Academy Award winning Trip to Bountiful with Just Betzer.

In 1997, John started his own company CMC or Chelsea Multimedia Corporation. The purpose of the startup was twofold; to provide credit facilities and leverage to independents seeking capital and to produce multimedia products for worldwide distribution. Today CMC holds interests in over 26 film and television properties, 3 tech companies and a dozen direct response products. Sales exceed 4 million annually.

A native of Dalhart, Texas, Katherine has been writing in all formats for over 25 years professionally. Starting out as a copywriter for Reuters, Huston found her touch early with published pieces and ad campaigns.

With nearly 25 screenplays to date, Huston loves to "cook to order".
