BIOGRAPHY: GERMAN ACTRESS MAIKE BILLITIS

Maike Billitis was born in Mühlacker, South Germany. Her passion for acting began at the tender age of eight after going to see a play called “Papagaya”, which inspired her to become a member of the local school theatre. At fifteen, she landed her first professional role at the Stuttgart Theatre. At eighteen, Maike moved to Berlin where she worked with Ingo Woesner, who founded the independent Theatre Company, Woesner Brothers Entertainment. It was here that Maike realised her comedy talent and decided to make the transition from theatre to television, successfully securing her first lead role in the TV series “Streit um drei”. This catapulted Maike’s career, she went on to play Kerstin Töppers the lead role in the popular family TV series “Marienhof” and also the sitcom “Poldy”, starring and working with the infamous German comedians Erkan and Stefan to name but a few.

Maike has now moved into film securing her first British movie role alongside Ray Winstone, Jack Huston and, Colm Meaney in the movie “The Hot Potato”.Subsequently appearing in another British independent film “Villains”.

Now with Giuseppe Giacalone (Pianist and composer), she has founded the music group “You and Me“.

Maike is delighted to be a jury member at The Angel Film Awards – Monaco International Film Festival 2012.
