Official Jury Member TAMMI CHRISTOPHER

Tammi Christopher is an award winning Journalist whose career in television and radio has spanned over three decades. During her remarkable 20 plus years as a Sportscaster at CTV-News in Canada, Tammi worked as a Sports Anchor, Writer, Producer and Reporter. When Tammi started in the television business she was only one of very few female sportscasters in North America, making her a true pioneer in the profession.

Tammi's thought-provoking and heartfelt TV features showcased her ability to tell captivating stories that viewers could connect with. Tammi's approach to her craft was creative, compassionate and compelling. She wrote and produced her on-air scripts, including an array of highlight packages and player profiles, and was often out in the field reporting live on the sidelines, by the dugout, or on the rodeo grounds at the World Famous Calgary Stampede. A respected veteran broadcaster, Tammi covered many major events including, The World Series, NHL Playoffs, CFL Grey Cup Championships, the National Lacrosse League, World Cup skiing, Bobsleigh and Luge, just to name a few.

Throughout her impressive career, Tammi has had the pleasure of interviewing a great number of athletes, newsmakers and entertainers. One of her career highlights was most definitely interviewing and preparing a feature story on none other than Prince Albert of Monaco when he competed in a Bobsleigh event at Canada Olympic Park. His Serene Highness even asked for a personalized copy of the story after it aired!

Prior to sports casting, Tammi spent several years as a DJ and Music Director for a variety of San Francisco Bay Area radio stations. As a radio personality she worked several formats: The Hits, Oldies, Adult Contemporary and Album Oriented rock. In her role as Music Director, Tammi met with record company representatives and was responsible for compiling the stations' playlists. She also became affectionately known as the "Ice Queen" due to her propensity to report NHL hockey scores to San Francisco Bay Area listeners.

On top of Tammi's world class journalism skills, she is also a classically trained pianist and composer. Tammi has performed the Canadian National Anthem in front of sold out stadiums, and has played at many sports functions. Tammi most recently composed and performed a musical score for a multi award winning documentary entitled: The Owen Hart Foundation - A Look Back, which received numerous honours at the Monaco International Film Festival. Tammi currently works as a Freelance Journalist, as well as a Music Composer. In her free time, Tammi volunteers to play piano for residents of a Calgary based nursing home; as well, Tammi now works with The Owen Hart Foundation and is an active board member of the Sponsorship Committee.

Tammi is a renowned personality figure in her hometown of Calgary, Canada and is often asked to emcee and guest speak at numerous public events. Married for almost 20 years, Tammi and her husband James are the proud parents of three wonderful sons, Christopher, Jonathan and Matthew whom she considers are her greatest accomplishments.
